Craft Club and Cupcakes

We had our very first craft club! I made cupcakes for the event and decided to try and decorate them. They turned out pretty good.  For craft club we made (or embellished) scarves.  We each did something different, but I decided to copy a scarf from anthropologie. My roommate actually found the idea from another blog that we really like.  It turned out great and since then I have made two more!!

So my niece, Ruth Ann, just turned 4 months old and I finally finished her paintings that I have been working on for too long! Overall I think they turned out pretty well for my first project!

Study, Birthday, Study, Fun, Study

So since my crazy life moved back to Augusta, Ga I have been attempting to study for my national board exam for OT. Some days are better than others, but I try not to let it stress me out. I have to add a little fun in the mix! Several fun weddings in August, girls mountain trip for labor day, birthday at the Braves game and a little UGA football (slight disappointment). It has also been amazing being in the same town as my boyfriend. We have actually being able to hang out and go on dates! It has been a truly wonderful time as we continue to get to know each other and move toward the next step that God have for our relationship;) I can't begin to describe how thankful I am that the Lord has allowed us to grow together and share so much. He truly knows best and has amazing plans for those who love Him and are patient and persevering in following His guidance.

Life in Fast Forward

So I know its been a long time since I've posted so I'll try to catch you...

I finished out my fieldwork in Colorado and headed to Maryland. Colorado was an amazing experience. I had some amazing adventures hiking, rock climbing, skiing, and eating! I had some fun visitors while I was in CO. My boyfriend:), several of my best friends from college and my brother all come to visit! I must say I was ready to head back to the east coast. It may have just been because it was winter, but they don't have the beautiful trees like the east does. My dad flew out to drive back with me and we packed up and made it back to GA in two days! I spent a week in Augusta seeing friends and family, finishing my research, and graduating. The next week I spent in the Amazon in Peru on a mission trip. An amazing trip. My niece Ruth Ann was born while I was in Peru! She's beautiful! The Monday I got back from the Amazon, I packed up and headed Maryland. I completed my 12-week fieldwork at Kennedy Kriger Institute in the Center for Autism and Related Disorders. It was a great learning experience. Now, back in Augusta studying for boards and looking for a job. In the mist of all of my school and trips I have also started something else amazing. A new relationship. We started talking the day before I left for CO, great timing:) We talked for several weeks then he decided to come and see me! We spent an entire week together and it was amazing. Though we have been several hundreds of miles away from each other for our entire relationship so far, we have developed a closeness that probably would not have otherwise grown. I am thankful for that, but also so extremely glad to be in the same town now. We can actually date! Ryan is such an amazing God fearing man. One who challenges me and loves me for exactly who God create me to be. He doesn't ask me to change myself, only challenges me to grow more in the direction of God, becoming a better (not different) me. He is fun and adventurous and has a desire for knowledge of life and the Lord that truly inspires me. I love him dearly and continue to pray for what God has in store for us. So needless to say life has been crazy the past 6-months!!

Day 3: Nowhere, KS to Colorado Springs, CO...Whoo hoo!

WE MADE IT!! If I don't have to drive 1,536.3 miles for awhile I will be one happy girl! I am so thankful that my dad came with me. It would have been a long boring trip without him. So we finally made it through Kansas (one of my top places never to move! No offense to you Kansas natives, I'm sure I just missed out on the good parts) The first part of Colorado is really flat. Wasn't expecting that! Its practically flat right up to the mountains. Nothing like the east. I got all settled into my room. I must say that I really lucked out with a place to stay. My bedroom window looks out at Pikes Peak. Pretty awesome if I must say so. Its going to take some getting use to. Not have my friends right down the road will be hard, but I look forward to the new friends I'll make. And don't worry everybody! I am coming back...:)

Day 2: Paducah, KY to Nowhere, KS

Ok, so the town wasn't really named nowhere it just felt like it. With the exception of Kansas City (which I believe most of it is in Missouri) I truly believe that Kansas is not yet inhabited. Maybe some cows and deer, but people? Anyway, we drove through Illinois and Missouri to just shy of mid-Kansas. This was a really long day because the land is so bare. Its like the movie Far and Away. Okay, I know that is Oklahoma, but the land is just as bare and deserted as it was in the movie when the settlers race out to claim it.
